Terms and Conditions

Country Canines main priority is to provide a safe, secure, relaxed and happy environment for all dogs, as far as is reasonably possible. We are licensed by Braintree District Council for Day Care under licence number AAL/111. You can request to see a copy of the licence or details can be found on BDC's website. Country Canines has Public Liability insurance cover and a copy of the certificate is available to see at the premises or on request.

We have been given a four star rating by the Council, as per Animal Welfare Regulations 2018. This is the highest rating achievable at the time of inspection in September 2022 because we don’t yet have more than 3 years history of trading.

Prior to any booking being considered an initial visit and familiarisation session to Country Canines must be arranged, as only dogs considered to be well socialised and who enjoy the company of other dogs and people will be considered suitable to visit Country Canines.  It is very important to us that not only do you like our setup and facilities and that you feel 100% happy leaving your dog/s in our care but this visit is also to ensure that we can make an accurate initial assessment regarding the suitability of your dog/s. This will include assessing its social behaviour, compatibility with other dogs, nervousness, energy levels, suitability for off lead walks, signs of aggression or unsociable habits and is for the benefit of all dogs who visit Country Canines.

Once a dog has been accepted by Country Canines an honest and detailed registration form (one per dog) must then be submitted, along with an up to date copy of the dogs vaccination certificate. Please be aware that by the very nature of the service we provide there are certain risks involved when dogs are put in an unfamiliar environment, interact with other dogs and meet new people. Therefore, by completing and signing our registration form you are agreeing to our terms and conditions: Any changes to a registration form (contact details, behavioural issues etc) should be advised by email.

No dog listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 will be accepted at Country Canines

All dogs must be microchipped.

All dogs must have an up to date vaccination certificate, a copy of which must be provided with the registration form and on annual renewal. This must include cover for: Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus, Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Although we insist on vaccination and every effort is made to ensure a safe and clean environment at Country Canines is maintained, owners should still be aware that any dog could still contract Kennel Cough or other infectious diseases and Country Canines will not be held responsible in this event. The last vaccination of the initial course must be completed at least two weeks prior to the first date of visiting Country Canines.

All dogs must have regular and up to date veterinary approved worm, flea and tick treatments.

Country Canines only accepts neutered dogs (both male and female), however, un-neutered puppies up to the age of approximately 12 months will be assessed and may be accepted at Country Canines discretion.

Country Canines is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged toys, leads, collars, beds, tags, clothing or any other item left with a visiting dog. Owners are liable for all damages and subsequent costs or claims to any property of Country Canines if caused by their dog whilst visiting.

Dogs will be walked on lead whilst in our care unless consent is given by the owner for their dog to be walked off lead.

Any dogs displaying signs of aggressive or unsociable behaviour (possessiveness, excessive barking, sexual harassment, marking etc), may be isolated until such time as they can be collected. If this should happen, we may ask you or your emergency contact to collect your dog before the end of their stay. If necessary, Country Canines reserves the right to use a local kennel facility, at the owner’s expense, for such isolation. Country Canines reserves the right to refuse or terminate the contract of any dog, or owner, who displays aggressive, destructive or unreasonable behaviour and there will be no refund for any dogs that have their stay terminated early.

Country Canines reserves the right to refuse any dog to visit at any time, without prior warning.

Country Canines approved vets is Linkswood Veterinary Centre, Nr Halstead.

Country Canines does not accept any responsibility for the death, loss, injury or illness of a dog whilst in their care. Owners are strongly advised to make sure their dogs are insured for all eventualities.

In the event of a dog being injured or involved in an accident or emergency, Country Canines will make every endeavour to contact the owner and/or their emergency contact, to inform them of the situation and for their instructions. If the owner cannot be reached but veterinary treatment is required, the dog will be taken to either the owner’s veterinary practice or Country Canines' approved vet. Full responsibility for the medical treatment and costs, including mileage and time, of any injuries or illness that a dog receives, will be the owners and such costs will be required to be reimbursed immediately before collection of the dog.

Dogs showing signs of disease or illness will not be accepted at Country Canines. However, if a dog should become ill during their visit, it will be isolated from any other dogs until veterinary advice is obtained from Country Canines' approved vets.  Any resulting actions, including mileage and time, will be the responsibility of the owner and must be settled before collection of the dog.

For dogs attending home boarding owners must provide all food with full feeding instructions.

Owners must provide all medication, with full dosage and administration instructions, for any dogs that require medication during their stay.

On confirmation of a home boarding booking, a non refundable or transferable 25% deposit (50% with two or more dogs) will be due with immediate effect, via BACS transfer to confirm the booking.  Balance fees are then due for payment before or by the time of drop off and commencement of booking, via BACS transfer.

If a booking for home boarding is cancelled within 3 weeks of the start of the boarding, there will be no refund and the full balance fee will still be payable.
